Lights and music in Piazza San Marco

The streets of Mestre’s city center host the Christmas market, a way to make the best of the Advent weeks. Piazza Ferretto, via Manin, via Allegri and via Poerio sparkle with colorful lights and traditional objects.
Centro Sviluppo Terzo Mondo ONG offers a cho- ral concert by multi-ethnic Voci del Mondo ensemble at Via Padre Gelain theatre. A feast that is all for sharing, that knows no nationality, and spe- aks the universal language of music.

The new Venetian way of celebrating New Year returns to Piazza San Marco in Venice and Piazza Ferretto in Mestre, ready to set the two hearts of the city beating on one of the most important nights of the year. Once again, the New Year celebrations will culminate in a vast, communal kiss to send a message of love, peace and brotherhood to the world. This is the simple but profound gesture, that will welcome in the New Year at an event that is destined to become the focus of media attention and a worldwide symbol of goodwill as well as a very special memory for both the city and all those who will be there to enjoy this new, unforgettable night in Venice. The music shows will be accompanied by a grand collective toast, and at midnight, the marvelous fireworks show in the basin of San Marco will light up New Year's Eve.
Venice and Mestre
From 3rd December 2011 to 8th January 2012
In Venice, the Procuratie will shine with a beautiful touch of red, while xmas images will be projected on the four sides of the bell tower. Decorations will cheer your way downtown.
In Mestre, there will be decorations in the square, main streets, and church yards will be offered by Co.De.Vi., a majestic arc will welcome Christmas downtown.
After several live experiences with jazz musicians as Tullio de Piscopo, Paolo Vianello, Nicola Dal Bo and others, Maria Dalla Rovere has participated in many jazz festivals and in 2011 produced her first cd together with jazz pianist/composer Roberto Magris.
